Four Knighthawks in Top 5 in scoring
(Rochester, July 26)…
Looking at the Major Series Lacrosse final point leaders this summer was like looking through a crystal ball and seeing the future of the Rochester Knighthawks. Four of the top five point producers in the league were from Rochester, which included projected No. 1 pick Cody Jamieson. Shawn Evans led his teammates, and the MSL, in points with 81 to capture the points championship. Evans was joined in the Top 5 by Craig Point (70), Scott Evans (64) and Jamieson (62). Shawn Evans will be on the Bob Matthews Show on Wednesday, July 28th at 6:45 p.m. on WHAM 1180-AM and wham1180.com.

Shawn Evans led the first-place Peterborough Lakers to a 14-2 record and chipped in a league-best 60 assists in 16 games. Point, who plays for Six Nations, recorded 70 points (26+44) in 15 contests, while his teammate Cody Jamieson registered 62 points (28+34) in 15 games. They were third and fifth, respectively, in the league in points. Scott Evans ended the season in fourth place in the MSL in points with 64 and led the league with 32 goals.
