(December 30, 2012)… The Rochester Knighthawks’ 2012 season was one to remember, culminating in the franchise’s third National Lacrosse League Championship. Last season was filled with memorable moments and fantastic goals. Here is a sample of some of the top goals from 2012.
The first goal is courtesy of transition man Brad Self, who nets a nifty goal in Minnesota on February 12, 2012.
The next highlight features 2012 All-Rookie Team member Johnny Powless. The 19-year-old star netted an over the shoulder goal versus the Toronto Rock that landed him on ESPN’s Top 10 list.
No. 3 stays with Powless as he capitalizes on a fortuitous rebound off the end boards to tie the game at 12 on April 2, 2012.
The last two highlights were scored in a six-goal third quarter that turned around the 2012 NLL Championship Game. Mike Accursi cut the Edmonton Rush's lead to 5-2 to spark a 7-0 run in the 9-6 victory.
The final goal belongs to 2012 Championship Game MVP Cody Jamieson. His third goal of the evening for the Knighthawks tied the game at five.
