ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM TO MAKE TWO MORE STOPS
02/14/2013 - 12:58pm

(February 14, 2013)… The Rochester Knighthawks are back on the road again, but this time it’s not to play a lacrosse game. The players will bring the team's “We Got Your Back” Anti-Bullying message to schools in East Irondequoit and Pittsford.

The latest event will take Joe Walters and Tyler Burton to Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School in East Irondequoit. On Friday from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m., the Knighthawks will talk to the third to fifth graders about their anti-bullying pledge at the school located at 600 Pardee Road.

The appearances will be the fifth anti-bullying event of the season by the defending NLL Champions. Cosgrove Middle School in Spencerport helped the Knighthawks launch the program, which was created by Ann Marie Leonardi of Hurricanes Lacrosse. Last season, the Knighthawks signed an anti-bullying pledge to kick off their 2012 season. This year, the team has already conveyed their anti-bullying message to over 2,000 local school children.

Following their appearance in East Irondequoit, the Knighthawks will speak to kids from the Southeast YMCA on Monday, February 18th at 10:00 a.m. The players will take the “We Got Your Back” message to Jefferson Rose Elementary in Pittsford to kick off The Southeast YMCA’s week-long February recess program.
