KNIGHTHAWKS IN THE BIG APPLE
06/13/2013 - 2:17pm

(June 13, 2013)… The Rochester Knighthawks are in New York City this weekend, but it’s not to take in the shopping or a Broadway show. Cody Jamieson, Stephen Keogh and Joe Walters are on a business trip with the Hamilton Nationals. The Nationals (5-1) will battle the New York Lizards (2-3) at 7:00 p.m. tonight at Icahn Stadium. The contest will be carried live on ESPN3.

Walters enters the game in second place on the Nats with 17 points (9+8) in just four games, which is good for a tie for 12th in the MLL. The Rochester native, who scored once in their last game against the Denver Outlaws, is riding an 18-game point streak.

Keogh has also produced since joining the team after winning back-to-back NLL Championships. In four games, the Toronto native is second on Hamilton’s roster with 10 goals and is fourth in points with 11. Jamieson has one goal and four assists in two contests in 2013.

It was just one month ago that the Knighthawks became the first NLL team in a decade to win two consecutive championships. In the NLL title game, Walters (1+5) and Jamieson (3+3) both had big games in the 11-10 victory on March 11th over the Washington Stealth. Jamieson was named the Championship Game MVP for the second straight season, becoming just the second player in NLL history to accomplish that feat. Keogh contributed five points (1+4) in two playoff games.

The Nationals home game against the Rochester Rattlers will be played at Geo Group Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. on Saturday, June 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
